Read the catalog please

When an art catalog comes in hands
The questions hit the mind
?
-Another catalog
-with the same kind of artists
-same kind of metaphors ,images and visual experience, sometime with a little difference.
-every time catalogs are written in a good mood
and who bother to read the written materials any ways
only the writer read it while writing or the artists watch there names how they appear in the write up and how two to five lines have been written about there works and mostly artist and galleries do expect  very goody sweety words from a writer.
Quite a disturbing question have been appeared during the last two three decades-
that we artist have stopped talking to each other for art valuations and we were busy enjoying the state and states of artist in the market place. It is good it was very healthy sign shown by society towards the artist and I appreciate it, any growing healthy society should sport the people who enhance the way of living, thinking and increase the standards of aesthetic living but have we ever collectively sat down and given a thought that what kind of art we are making and what kind of art should we making in future. Are we not busy talking about the prices of the art and about the prices of a particular artist, the artist who sells more and at a high price is a great artist to our thought and in the society as well.
Let us discuss here what kind of art we making of art since 50 years in India.
1.    We have been looking towards west.
2.    We have been looking towards the past and traditional way of doing.
3.    Some of our thinking artist during 70s and 80s till 90s were searching for their own original genres, metaphor and images in light of past and present techniques.
4.    Most of the time very sentimental kind of art appeared on the seen and some kind of decorative designs..
5.    What? If some artist create art with the same old western thinking, sentimental metaphor images and make art with the same old conventional thinking with new age materials and help of computer and technologies. - Do you think that is contemporary art?
No!  I don’t think so its rotten material in new packing.

These are burning question for any serious artist and responsible art connoisseur.
Dear me!
let us talk ..
